Other relevant Training: Pathwork - Object relations - Ex-Buddhist Monk - Internal family systems Theoretical Approach: Through training as a Buddhist monk, I became convinced that the only true agent of healing is the 'Self' - Internal family systems is a way to help people become their own therapist - to tune into their defences, and listen to them deeply. When this happens, you understand they are doing their best to help from a limited perspective, and it is then possible to co-operate with them. As this happens they become willing to step aside and reveal the hurt parts of the psyche they have been attempting to protect, and then it is possible to make a new relationship with these parts from 'Self'/mindfulness. It is a very efficient way of working, and one which sees the mind as an ecology - respecting the systemic nature of the relationship between the different parts of the mind. Language:
