Joining CABP

There are four types of membership in CABP:
  1. Full Members  (Application Form)
  2. Associate Members  (Application Form)
  3. Affiliate Members  (Application Form)
  4. Student Members  (Application Form)
FULL MEMBERSHIP  is open to:
  1. Therapists awarded a Diploma in Body Psychotherapy from a recognised Body Psychotherapy Training Institute and who fulfil the “CABP Criteria for Full Membership and Accreditation” (opens as a  PDF document).
  2. Therapists qualified in any other recognised psychotherapeutic modality and accredited by UKCP (or equivalent) or holding an ECP, who in addition fulfill the criteria set out at section E of the document “CABP Criteria for Full Membership and Accreditation”.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP  is open to:

Therapists awarded a Certificate in Body Psychotherapy from an established Body Psychotherapy Training Institute and who are training and working towards their Diploma. These members are covered by the CABP Ethics and Equal Opportunities Committee (EEOC) for a period of four years from award of their Certificate. They must be in regular supervision with a Body Psychotherapy Supervisor recognised by CABP to maintain their Associate Membership.

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP is open to:

  1. Psychotherapists of any modality who hold accreditation by a recognised accrediting organisation (eg UKCP, BACP, EABP, BPS or hold an ECP).
  2. Anyone who has an interest in body psychotherapy and wishes to maintain that interest through attending CABP events and receiving the Newsletter. This could include body psychotherapists at various stages of training who do not actually practice or who are retired from practice.
Affiliate Members’ clinical work is not covered by the CABP EEOC.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP is open to:

Students on any psychotherapy training that complies with the Training Standards of the HIPS Section of the UKCP and who hold an interest in body psychotherapy. Student Members are not covered by the CABP EEOC.
